Ontario wins 7-0

Highlights

Ontario shut-out PEI 7-0 this morning, with Jodie Hannen (Pickering) picking up four points (two goals and two assists). Goalies Meghan Pittaway (Cambridge) and Amanda Voisin (Waterloo) shared the shut-out for Ontario.

Natasha Cote (Ottawa), who picked up one goal in the game, was the flag bearer for Team Ontario at the 2007 Canada Winter Games opening ceremonies. In total there were four ringette athletes who were flag bearers for their provincial teams (the other three were Team AB - Jennifer Harlet (Balzac), Team NS - Rebecca Kerr (Bedford) and Team SK - Bobbi-Jo Blandford

Preliminary Round - Nova Scotia vs. Quebec

Quebec wins 6-2

Highlights

Quebec posted a 6-2 win over Nova Scotia, with Cortney Keeble (Notre-Dame-de-Il-Perrot) picking up a pair of goals and Steffie Belanger (Ste-Anne de Plaines) capturing three assists for Quebec. Nicole Boyd (Halifax) and Lauren Morse (Berwick) each picked up a goal for Nova Scotia.

What to Watch for Tomorrow

The 1:00 pm game at Canada Games Centre between Manitoba and Alberta will be one to watch, as the two teams are expected to be strong finishers at the Games.
