BC Sailing Circuit

The BC Sailing Circuit is a series of 9 events and is sponsored by BC Sailing. Events are held in the Lower Mainland, Okanagan and on Vancouver Island.

The BC Sailing Circuit is open to sailors from any club.  There is no age limit on classes except for the Optimist class where sailors shall be no older than 15 years of age during the calendar year (born 1995 or later).  The divisions for the Optimist class are as follows:
Red - ages 13-15 (born 1996-1998)
Blue - ages 11-12 (born 1999-2000)
White - ages 10 and younger (born 2001 or later)
Novice - first year of racing, ages 15 and younger

Of the 9 regattas held, a sailor's best 6 will count toward the season's results, which will be awarded at BC Sailing's Annual Planning Conference. Eligible winners of the Laser, Radial and 29'er classes will be awarded a minimum $500 AAP funding. More information about the Athlete Assistance Program (AAP) is available here. The overall results will be also be used toward PacificSport memberships.

The points awarded for each regatta will be dependent on the number of sailors. For example, if there are 6 sailors the winner will get 6 points, 2nd gets 5 points, and so on.
