Learn to Sail - Bronze IV & V

Recommended Ages: 13 and up

Prerequisites:
White Sail III

Description:
After completing the White Sail programs, sailors can advance to Bronze IV and V.  These programs are typically taught in double-handed training boats such as 420s, Pirates and Laser 2s, although other boats may be used as well depending on the club or school.

The Bronze IV curriculum includes advanced sailing theory such as CE, CLR, and boat parts, and advanced sailing skills.  At the end of the session, sailors are expected to be able to perform advanced skills like rudderless sailing and backwards sailing.

Bronze V introduces spinnaker work and trapezeing, as well as anchoring.  Instructors will teach sailors how to fly the spinnaker on different points of sail and how to use the trapeze.

This program is offered for both youth and adults.  Please click here to download copy of the report card.
