Learn to Sail - Optimist Level 1
Recommended Ages: 8 to 12
Prerequisites: None
Description: The Optimist Level 1 program is designed specifically for children ages 8 to 12 and is taught in Optimist dinghies. Sailors start out by learning the basics with a friend in the boat, then graduate to sailing on their own. Instructors teach basic sailing concepts such as sail trim, points of sail, tacking and gybing, as well as water safety and teamwork.
