Sailors on the Provincial Team can apply to become a member of the National Sport Centre Team.  Each year, 10 to 15 athletes are selected to be members of this team.  There are currently 14 BC sailors on this team, in fleets such as Laser, Radial and 29er.

Selection criteria are:

• Past performance
• Movement toward Olympic classes
• Future potential

Members of the National Sport Centre Team are given fitness passes and are invited to attend seminars at the regional sport centres.  Athletes have access to:

• Fitness passes for selected fitness facilities;
• Medical monitoring for treatment and prevention of injury;
• Performance enhancement and personal development seminars;
• Special offers and discounts at selected grocery stores and restaurants;
• Many other services provided by PacificSport and the National Sport Centre.

There are two main Sport Centres in BC (Vancouver and Victoria) with many satellite centres throughout the province.
