This list is updated periodically. Users of this list should be aware that boat owners change their equipment and new boats come in to the system. It should be noted that all current PHRF- BC boats have been provided a rating certificate which indicates the boats rating, the effective date of the certificate and the expiry date of the certificate. Race organizers are encouraged to require all boats which participate in their events to submit a current certificate which shows the current rating for that boat.

Please note that there are two PHRF systems in use in British Columbia. Generally PHRF-BC is used by organizers in Vancouver area and the Okanagan, while Vancouver Island organizers generally use PHRF - NW. Boat owners should consult with the race organizers if they are in doubt.

BC Sailing offers a PHRF system to the sailors of British Columbia. PHRF-BC is based upon the concepts and principals used throughout North America.  The purpose of the system is to offer Race Organizers and their competitors a performance oriented handicapping system which, while not based upon measured data, handicaps the speed potential of each boat handicapped. A major consideration is keeping the cost to a minimum.

British Columbia Boat owners who wish a PHRF-BC rating can make application directly to BC Sailing. The annual fee is $40.00.
